Are you planning a road trip through Ladakh and Leh? One of the most stunning regions in India, motorcyclists from across the world have recently discovered the out-of-this-world beauty on offer and are now flocking to enjoy the ride.

Known as the Land of High Passes, the Ladakh region is located in the northernmost corner of India, within Jammu and Kashmir. The exotic region shares its southern border with the Himalayas, whilst it is bordered on the north by the Karakoram mountain range. Made from two districts, Leh and Kargil, it is Leh which truly captures the imaginations of travellers.

The second largest district in India, Leh is the main town within the Ladakh region and offers a wide range of stunning attractions, both natural and historical. It was originally the capital of the Himalayan Kingdom and is dominated by the ruins of the royal palace. Whilst here, a visit to the many Buddhist monasteries that dot the region are a must, as is the Nubra Valley, Zanskar Valley and the Pangong Tso Lake. Whilst putting locations on your road-trip map are a must, so too is finding the ideal bike. We’ve found that our riders love the Royal Enfield Bullet for bike trips through Leh and Ladakh.

Comfort
When road-tripping across through the toughest route in the world, comfort is absolutely critical. Thankfully, the Royal Enfield Bullet knows how to make a bike that places comfort as a priority – featuring extra-soft suspension and ergonomic seating, we’re confident you’ll never want to get off! Back pains will be a thing of the past, leaving you to enjoy the ride.

Reliability
Reliability is also an important factor, especially when you’re heading into the middle of nowhere with only your fellow riders for assistance. The Bullet has used innovative technology to improve its reliability and increase its durability, now built using world class manufacturing systems and an advanced Unit Construction Engine (UCE).

Customisation
If you’re looking for a bike that you can truly make your own, then the Royal Enfield is the perfect choice. After listening to their customers, the company has released factory custom models and teamed up with modders to create custom bikes that are effectively a blank canvas. Enthusiasts from all over the world are loving the opportunity to own a motorcycle that is as unique as they are.

Timeless
Lastly, it is the sleek and timeless shape of the Bullet that draws the crowds – not only does it look like a classic machine, but it offers the same thrilling ride that lovers of older bikes have come to expect.

Known for being one of the top-selling motorcycles in India, if you’re looking the best bike for your Ladakh and Leh road trip, then the Royal Enfield Bullet is the ideal choice. Offering a classic silhouette and powerful engine, you’ll want to ride from Chandigarh to Srinagar in one trip!

These days, one of the best ways to holiday is by motorcycle – it allows you to feel the wind in your hair, get up close and personal with the sights and sounds of the culture, and to meet some great new people. There are, however, a number of things that could go wrong on your motorcycle tour – being prepared for them will ensure that you know exactly what to do should an issue arise:

You are involved in a motorcycle accident

This often the first issue that springs to mind and is also the last thing that you want to occur whilst travelling. If you are involved in an accident, even just a small bingle, make sure you speak with your tour guide. Please be aware that you will be liable for damage to the bike.

You lose one or all of your important documents

This is another issue that quickly springs to mind and can lead to all sorts of legal problems. It is important that you keep your passport, license and tickets in a safe place on your person. If they do go missing, speak with your guide immediately and resort to your scanned copies.

You take a wrong turn

This is actually a fear of many people embarking on a motorcycle tour, especially if travelling in a country where English is not the main language. Try to memorise the route and keep your group in sight at all times, but make sure you ask for directions if you do get lost.

You find yourself stranded without fuel

This is another fear of travellers; your motorcycle slowly putters to a stop and the rest of the tour disappears into the distance without you. If this happens, ask for directions to the nearest shop or even house where fuel is available. Please be aware that it will cost you a small fortune.

You or your whole tour is delayed

This is something that does occur on the odd occasion. Your tour will begin at a designated time each day – if you are unable to make it to the rendezvous point on time, you will need to set off alone. If the tour as a whole is delayed, just wait around the rendezvous point.
Whilst you don’t want to think about something going wrong on your motorcycle tour, it is important that you are prepared for every possible scenario. By being aware of the issues that could arise during your travels and how you should proceed, you will be less likely to panic and will get the issue sorted quickly. If you have any worries, don’t hesitate to speak with your guide.
