What we do
BikingTours.com.au helps riders plan bike tours in Australia and New Zealand. We publish guides to rail trails such as the Brisbane Valley, Great Victorian, Murray to Mountains, Riesling and Northern Rivers trails, to epic rides such as the Munda Biddi, Mawson and Otago Central trails, and to the practical side of touring: road rules and safety, choosing between guided and self-guided tours, and what to pack. Our ride planner turns a trail distance and your own pace into a simple day-by-day split.
About this domain
bikingtours.com.au previously hosted a business offering overseas motorcycle tours. That site stopped operating, and the domain was relaunched in 2026 as an independent cycle touring guide. Every page has been written from scratch. We are not connected with the previous operator of this domain, and we do not run tours, take bookings or hire bikes.
Independence
BikingTours.com.au is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any trail manager, trail foundation or Friends group, council, state or national government agency, tour operator, bike hire or luggage transfer business, retailer, brand, or any business with a similar name. Nothing on this site is legal advice. For official trail conditions, closures and road rules, always use the official websites.
How we research
We base our guides on official sources, such as state and territory government road safety pages and official trail websites, plus reputable reference works on trail history, routes and geography. Each guide lists its sources and the date it was last updated. We do not invent statistics, prices, ride times or quotes. Distances in our ride planner are approximate and come from the sources cited in each guide; the speeds and hours are yours. Trail conditions and road rules change, so please check before you ride.
Respect for Country
Trails in Australia cross the Country of many Aboriginal peoples. We encourage every rider to respect Traditional Owners, stay on the trail, and leave places as they found them.
How we are funded
Nobody can pay to change our guides. Some pages may carry clearly labelled affiliate links for gear, tours or accommodation, or labelled sponsored placements. Our editorial policy explains how we make money. To get in touch, use our contact page.
